Reiki For Your Dog, Cat, Horse Or Any Pet You Love - Amazing Health Benefits

Dogs, Cats, and Horses love Reiki. I have been privileged to work with these wonderful animals, and I know how much they love their Reiki sessions.

I would like to talk about our special friends, the animals and pets we all love. It doesn't matter what pet you have, Dog, Cat, Horse or Snake. Reiki will work for them.

Those skeptical about complementary medicine will usually attribute any beneficial effect to the placebo response. "If I believe strongly enough that Reiki (or whatever) will make me better" then the likelihood is that better you will be!

But the same argument cannot apply to animals that can have no expectations one way or another about whether a particular treatment will work, and so, the placebo response cannot apply. Hence, where alternative or complementary remedies do work - the effect must be genuine.

I have seen dogs, cats and bigger animals relax and improve when treated with Reiki: Your pet will respond wonderfully to any Reiki treatments. I love to work with the animals and pets of my friends and family. If you have pets of any kind they will love their treatments.

I know some veterinary surgeries do have complimentary healing practitioners on their books. And like doctors, the vets are starting to realise that Reiki can help their patients too.

All animals benefit from Energy Healing, and of course that is exactly what Reiki is. Reiki is an extraordinary healing force. Reiki flows through the Reiki practitioner to your pet and they become extremely relaxed and sleepy. Reiki healing energy focuses on the Reiki healing life power. The wholesome energy contained in our bodies. By means of the channeling force from us to the recipient, the distressed areas undergo revitalization. This revitalisation is nothing else but 'Life Force'

The entire beneficial amount of positive thinking and feelings, conveyed to the recipient (your beloved pet) translates into light. This Reiki healing light adds to the life flow energy, it helps with all manner of illness and upsets your pet may encounter. It will help to calm them and ensure they will get any help that is available from the Reiki healing force.

One of the supreme rewards of a Reiki alternative treatment (for you and your pet) is in the significant decrease of stress. You know when your pet is suffering stress or upset, especially if they have had to have surgery, or other treatments that mean a visit to the vets.

Recovery from surgery can be quite surprising, especially when the treatments begins some weeks prior to the scheduled operation. Then you carry on the Reiki after their treatment and it all comes together to help and improve after-affects and recovery time. We know that Reiki is a particular type of delicate energy transfer.

In the healing process, the Reiki therapist lays her hands on or above your beloved pet or animal that is being treated. And it goes to them through the healing light. In this way, a relationship takes place between the patient and an immeasurable spring of life energy. This sort of force is an exceptionally potent one, yet is incredibly kind and soothing.

If you would like to help the world's animals, (and in some countries they badly need lots of help) including UK. and USA. I'm afraid. In your mind's eye see a picture of the animals you would like to send Reiki love and healing to, and send it to them on a beam of loving light.

The endangered sea-life need all the help they can get too. Not many of us are blessed to give hands-on-healing to Whales and Dolphins, but we can send love and Reiki to to them. We just have to think about a pod of Whales or Dolphins swimming with joy in our oceans, and send them our loving and healing thoughts.

You might be one of those lucky people who live where you can see the pods swimming, how wonderful for you. As you watch them at play, send love and light to them, and you may be very surprised at their joyful reaction.

Reiki is a secure and preferable manner of coping with a variety of complications. A Reiki treatment will not upset your pet in any way. They will relax and let the healing energy work. There are absolutely no contraindications with Reiki for human patients or animals.

Reiki relaxes your body and mind. so whatever pet you have they will feel wonderful. Evan very small animals can accept Reiki, your little mouse or hamster will benifit from a little hands-on healing.

How to ease any conditions your pet may have without drugs, side effects or surgery, and in many cases, not even a visit to the Vets. Make your beloved pets life more enjoyable and meaningful.

Pet Wellness: Cat Pancreatitis Awareness

Pet wellness advice today takes a look at cat pancreatitis, the lack of awareness by cat owners, causes, care and preventative measures.

The job of the pancreas is to produce digestive enzymes and secrete hormones used in the metabolic process. Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas, and when inflamed, the digestive enzymes break away causing damage to the pancreas and the liver.

When a dog has pancreatitis he will show signs of illness that make it obvious to his owner that something is wrong - usually vomiting and abdominal pain. The symptoms in cats however are more mild, easy to miss or be mistaken for something else.

Symptoms of Pancreatitis in Cats

The most common signs in a cat are lethargy and lack of appetite. However if you are a cat owner you know that cats often sleep and lounge all day and are picky eaters and it is for this reason that cat owners don't sense that something is wrong until it's too late.

Causes of the Disease

Although high in debate, traditional veterinarians tend to believe there is nothing specific that causes this disease in most pets. However, recent studies have shown that in a small percentage of pets pancreatitis has been linked to trauma of the pancreas, viral or parasitic infection, and exposure to organophosphates, which is a toxin commonly found in pesticides. Some medications are also considered to be the culprit of pancreatitis such as; Phenobarbital, Prednisone, other catabolic steroids, and Diuretic drugs.

Dr. Karen Becker tells me in her experience the majority of cats with pancreatic illness first develop inflammation in their GI tract. You may be familiar with some of these conditions such as gastritis, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Becker goes further into detail by saying that the underlying reason for a vast majority of GI tract inflammation in pets is food allergies.

Processed Pet Food and Pancreatitis

A majority of commercial cat food contains allergenic ingredients that a cat's GI tract objects to over time. If you're feeding him the same food 365 days a year, it is possible the cat can developed an allergy to the protein source in the food. Once again, we hear and read about the many evils of processed pet food, which is why pet wellness practices steer pet owners away from processed foods and closer to raw food diets and natural pet health care.

Another problem with processed pet food is its lack of natural enzymes, which are biologically appropriate for your pet. Biologically appropriate food supplements the enzymes produced by the pet's body which reduces pancreatic stress. When a cat is fed only processed food, over time the cat's pancreas can develop chronic inflammation and stress from over working to produce the enzymes needed to digest its meals.

The carbohydrate-dense ingredients in most commercial pet foods require high levels of insulin to process. This is also extremely taxing to the pancreas because the other job of the pancreas is to secrete insulin. When a cat's pancreas is over worked and can no longer do its job well, the result is pancreatitis.

Pet Wellness Advice: If Your Cat Has Been diagnosed with Pancreatitis

If your cat is vomiting, sluggish and shows loss of appetite or fever, it is imperative that you seek veterinary attention for your cat. Do not just assume this is a cat's normal behavior. Dr. Becker suggests the cat owner seek the professionalism of an integrative or holistic vet in order to best manage your cat's condition and get him back to good health.

Cat owners should also seriously consider their cat's diet and type of food intake. Turning their meals into natural / raw food is something many pet owners are taking on these days, and with the information we have on store bought pet food and pancreatitis, amongst many other various issues, utilizing the impact of natural pet health care is highly advised.

When your cat's pancreatic situation is stabilized, one of the best things you can do to reduce the risk of another flare up is to supplement his diet with digestive enzymes. You can do this by providing the cat a constant supply of enough digestive enzymes to help him process the food he consumes in order to reduce the workload on the pancreas and reduce organ stress.

a. The pet owner can feed him pancreatic tissue, an option that is quite unappealing to most pet owners.

b. The pet owner can add a digestive enzyme supplement to his cats' meals.

When it comes to domesticated companion animals the best pet wellness practice is to feed a raw diet and practice natural pet health care. There is no way however to provide these pets with the same level of naturally occurring enzymes they would find if they were feeding in the wild, so any domesticated pet can be enzyme deficient and requires a supplement in their daily meals.

Unfortunately, pancreatitis often reoccurs. It's a serious disease that can result in complications like diabetes, hepatic lipidosis, bleeding and clotting disorders, and even brain damage. For these reasons Dr. Becker suggests pet wellness practices be put into action by working with a holistic vet and use natural pet health care to keep your cat strong and healthy and to prevent reoccurring pancreatitis. She also recommends you give your cat a high quality probiotic and transition him to a carb and grain free protein diet to reduce the risk of future episodes of cat pancreatitis.

Stray Dogs, Cats & Humans - Who Changes Whom The Most Dramatically & Why?

When entering a relationship, or even considering it, we always talk about unconditional love. We miss it. We sometimes received it from our parents and more often from grandparents.

But when it comes to "leaving the cleavage" of mama, it's a rough world out there. We may find glimpses of love from our mate, and sometimes a lot more than glimpses. Even the best of relationships and marriages can have "conditions".

Have you ever owned a dog or cat? There are no conditions. We may train our dogs and cats, to do certain tricks (it impresses our friends), but have you thought about what they teach us?

It's called unconditional love and if you don't think we learn it from them, think again. That is one of the few if any places we do learn such a wonderful way to live. We learn tolerance, patience, forgiveness and so much more.

I will give you a ridiculous far-out example, but, more often than not, we have our pets spayed or neutered, which is a smart thing, unless we are breeders of them.

And yet dog remains man's best friend. Can you imagine having the same procedure done to your own human best friend, and he or she come home and lick you in the face the next day wagging his/her tail and wanting nothing but your love or attention? I know that is a bit far-fetched, but it is a reality.

A dog (and even a cat) loves you simply for being you. There is an old Irish prayer, "Lord, please make me half the man my dog thinks I am".

If only that were true. And if you think a dog or cat will love you unconditionally, you can take that a step further. Try adopting one from your local shelter. Cats and, it seems especially dogs, have a keen 6th sense and memory that is uncanny. They will appreciate you and show you a kind of love you've never experienced.

I just lost "Thor", my mixed breed that I found in the woods in rural Ms. He looked a lot like Benji. That was 12 years ago. He lived, the vet believes, to be almost 22 years old. Ironically, the first Benji, (there have been more) was found not far from where I found Thor.

After owning Thor a few years, I found people were much more pleasant to me. I thought it was because I had such a cute friendly people-loving dog. Maybe that was a part of it, but the major part of it was Thor had taught me something I had never experienced before, unconditional love on steroids.

That dog loved me no matter what.

I am still grieving over the loss of Thor, and will for quite awhile. But I will soon adopt or find another dog and know that I will experience this most unique phenomena that can be found nowhere else. May you have the same blessing.

Ringworm in Pet Dogs and Cats

If your dogs or cat has developed patches in its fur and seems to be scratching or biting at its skin, it may be suffering from ringworm. But, in many instances, you may discover that your pet is suffering from this condition because small, round red patches have started to appear on your skin or the skin of another person that lives in your house.

Ringworm is highly transferable from animals to humans and humans can only get rid of the condition completely once they have completely treated the pet that infected them. The house will need to be treated as well as ringworm spreads fast and clothing, furniture and bedding are all likely contaminated.

One of the first things it is necessary to understand about ringworm is that, despite the name, the condition is not caused by a worm or a parasite. Ringworm is instead caused by a fungus called Dermatophytosis.

There are three types of fungi which can cause ringworm. These include:

Microsporum canis--this type of fungi is almost always seen in cats-especially long haired cats.
Microsporum gypseum--this type is usually found on dogs and cats that dig in contaminated soil.
Trichophyton mentagrophytes--this type of fungi is seen on dogs and cats that are around rodents or the burrows in which rodents live.
There are several options for treating ringworm in pets including:

Topical anti-fungal shampoos--this is the most common type of treatment
Anti-fungal creams--these are usually only prescribed if the pet has large areas of baldness.
Oral anti-fungal medications--this medication is typically only given out in very severe ringworm cases as they have a number of serious side effects.
It is important to treat ringworm outbreaks fast as they will become increasingly difficult to eliminate with time.

Overweight Pets - Dogs, Cats and Every Other Animal is at Risk of Early Death and Disease!

It can be said that a pet's health is directly related to the pet's weight. Every animal, from dogs, cats, rabbits or even your hamster should have their weight checked. Just like humans, when an animal is overweight, the chance of disease and illness striking is highly increased. Overweight pets are much more likely to contract diseases and illnesses and remain sick longer. They are more likely to have the symptoms of old age in their youth. Worst of all, they are much more likely to have a shorter life span. We don't want your pet to die when he could've served as your trusty companion years longer!

Step One:

One of the first things that you should do for your pet is to actually have them examined for their physical fitness. Now, I know this sounds pretty obvious, but when was the last time you actually did it...

Even if you know that your pet is overweight and needs to lose the weight, an exam should be one of the first things that you do for them. Meet with a veterinarian that you trust and know is committed to helping your pet. It may sound a little strange, but interview them! Get to know them so that you can trust them with your pet's care.

Although this is not a specific tool to help your pet to lose weight, it is a crucial first step. Most people do not realize that a just few pounds overweight can be detrimental to a pet's health. A doctor can help to point out specifically what needs to be done for your pet. Your doctor should also be able to monitor your pet's progression from their current level, to a healthier stage. They should be your ally in fighting your pet's overweight problem!

The good news is that pets are going to be healthy if you help them to be! It all comes down to you! A pet cannot feed himself while in captivity. While many pets do not need to have constant attention, they do need you to monitor their health and what they eat and how they exercise. Easy!

Traveling With Your Pet Dog or Cat - Have Emergency Numbers With You

We love traveling with our dogs. Whether across town or across country we take them along. But what happens if you have an accident. Worse yet, what would happen to your dog if you are hurt bad enough you have to go to the hospital?

If you are unconscious or so badly shaken that you go into shock, chances are the animal control officer would be called to the scene to take charge of your dog. It would be up to them if the dog goes to a veterinarian or to the animal shelter/city pound.

This could be prevented by a small 3x5 index card that you have readily visible in your vehicle. This 3x5 card should have the dogs name and any pertinent information about your dog. Things like medication being taken, allergies, or behavior issues that someone needs to be aware of. Then have two or three local names and phone numbers (home and cell if possible) on the card. So someone would be able to call those numbers and have a friend or family member come and get your dog. Your veterinarians name and phone number would also be a good idea, in case the dog is hurt too.If you are going to travel out of the local area you will want to make a separate card for your trip. You will want the dogs name and information on this card as well.

But you will want to include not only the local information but also your destination information, with at least one contact number from there. That way should something happen as you are getting close to your destination you would get help for your dog quicker. Two examples: You could take a photo of your dog and on the back of the photo, with a permanent pen write the information. Then tape the photo to your dash someplace visible. Be sure to have the words "In case of emergency" written on the front, so someone will know there is more information on the back.

Another possible way would be to take your 3x5 card or photo with the information printed on it and laminate it, punch a small hole in the top and hang it from your rear view mirror. (Be careful as not to block your line of site.) You never expect an accident to happen but by being prepared you won't have regrets later. Happy and safe traveling.

Making Dog - Cat Introductions

Since our Universe is made up of diverse people and some love cats and some love dogs, there comes a time when these two different sorts of people decide to co-exist together.

They are certain they can get along together, but what about their beloved pets? Well, with patience and planning, the cat and dog can learn to become friends. Maybe not best buddies, but can learn to live together, if you are patient enough to follow certain procedures.

First of all, you do not throw the two animals together and hope for the best. That will only create a situation where one or the other will get hurt or you will create a first impression of fear that neither one will ever forget. Once that happens, you will never have a peaceful co-existence no matter how hard you try.

The most important thing to take under consideration is the dog's attitude toward smaller creatures. Does the dog love to chase squirrels and/or other smaller animals? If so, it has developed a prey drive or enjoys the thrill of a chase. This can present problems when introducing a cat, which normally will run from a dog.

If you are not certain of the dog's reaction, take the dog (on a leash) out to where there are some squirrels or smaller dogs. There you can watch the dog's reaction to smaller creatures. If there is only a mild reaction, that is one hurdle conquered.

If the dog has caught and killed squirrels and/or cats, forget it. There is no way you will ever be able to have a peaceful co-existence between the two animals. Don't even let that idea enter your mind, because it will not work no matter how hard you try, the desire will always be there to "get the cat."

As your human relationship unfolds and you think it is going to move into a more serious involvement, the time to think of bringing the other two members of the group together is now.

Once you have established that the dog is not going to hunt down the cat and have it for lunch.

My feeling is that the couple exchange pet blankets, now this might seem silly, but by bringing over each pet's blanket to the others home and letting the cat/dog smell it, is the first introduction. I would do this several times while you are in the process of determining what you are going to do with your relationship and living situation.

Once it is established that you are going to be together, bring the cat/dog to the place where you are going to be living. Keep the cat in a carrier and the dog on a leash. Watch the reaction between the two, if it is fairly calm, let the dog smell the cat in the carrier (keeping it restrained).

Feed the dog some treats and if you also give the cat some through the screen. Keep the meeting short and do this for several days until you see that both pets are tolerating each other and seem a bit more relaxed.

In the meantime, keep the cat in a room with its food, water, litter box and toys.

It is suggested by the Humane Society of the United States that you feed the pets on opposite sides of the door so that they get used to each other.

Other suggestions are:

For short periods of time exchange rooms, bring the dog into the cat's space and let the cat roam the house, while the dog is confined.

Next put up a barrier (like a child's or pet gate) so they can see each other, watch the dog and if the dog shows intense interest or attempts to push down the gate beware.

If they seem calm and not nervous try a cat to dog approach, leash the dog and have it in a stay/sit position and let the cat out to wander at its desecration. Keep the dog calm and sitting.

If the dog shows aggression, calmly remove the dog and do not scold or punish, if the cat shows aggression, remove the cat and start all over again with the barrier bit.

Never allow the dog to chase the cat, no matter how cute is may seem, that could lead to a dead cat, one day.

Do not allow the pets to be alone with each other until you are absolutely positive that they are friends. You need to supervise all the time.

Make certain the cat has an escape hatch, a high place to go that the dog cannot get to it.

Keep their food separate, do not let the dog eat the cat food and do not let the cat near the dog when it is eating.

If after 10 days the animals are not relaxed and tolerating each other despite all your efforts, know when to say when. If it does not look like it is going to work find a new home for the cat/dog, by doing that you may be saving a life.

Animals are just like people, some we like and some we do not, there is no way to know until you try and even with the best of efforts it does not work. What ever you do, do not leave them alone to work it our themselves, the end result could and would be disaster.

The Benefits of Owning a Small Pet Dog

Small pet dogs offer the best of both worlds- loyal companionship and a relatively low maintenance lifestyle. They do not need as much space to run around as larger dogs so they are the perfect dog to have if you live in a small apartment in the city and do not have a big backyard or countryside for a larger dog to run around in. Small dogs supply the constant companionship that many pet owners crave which cannot be fulfilled by a cat or other domesticated animals yet they are almost as low maintenance as cats and do not need a lot of extra space. They are often fierce protectors and unlike cats they need to be walked which allows the owners to get some exercise as well as new forms of social interaction. Dog parks are often the best places to bring small pet dogs to fulfill their social and exercise needs, but watch out for larger dogs and make sure to keep an eye on your small pet dog's safety at all times. Small pet dogs are often great with kids as well.

Things to do before bringing your pet home

Before bringing them home it is good to safeguard your home to make sure they will feel safe and comfortable right away. Get a crate and/or a dog bed for your small dog to feel safe and comfortable in while they sleep. Supplying ample amounts of toys, doggie bones, or age appropriate items for your small dog will make them feel right at home. Make sure there are no loose electrical wires or anything else that they could get into that would possibly cause injury or damage. Getting doggy pads for younger small pet dogs is necessary for potty training and protecting your floors and carpets. Some accidents are to be expected so do not get too mad when these occur. Also, getting a barrier like a baby safety gate will be helpful to block off rooms or areas that you do not want your small dog to go into. When washing your small pet dog, it is good to get shampoo that is specially made for dogs so you don't irritate their eyes or delicate skin. Always dry the dog thoroughly after washing so that they do not catch a cold.

Training Tips

When training your small pet dog it is most useful to get a training book and/or a professional trainer, and teach your dog in a firm yet gentle manner, giving out ample rewards when he or she does something right, and not scolding to harshly, yet being firm enough for your dog to know who is in charge, when they do something undesirable. Patience is key, and you will be surprised how fast your small pet dog can learn new tricks and skills when taught in the right way. Small pet dogs are a great addition to any family and will make a loyal and loving companion to some special owner for many years to come. They are unconditionally loving and truly great pets to have.

Pet Dog Health

Did you know that keeping your pet well-groomed is not just a great way of keeping them cute and cuddly, but also a great tool to help you detect any health problems? Identifying your pet's health conditions is often a difficult task, as our pets could not aptly describe what they are particularly feeling or experiencing.

Keeping our dogs well-groomed will help us get in tune with our dog's health. Changes in our dog's appearance like hair loss, dry and scaly skin, accompanied by constant itching and scratching are the warning signals of health ailments. Keeping our pets tidy will make it a whole lot easier to spot unusual behaviors such as constant itching and scratching.

Thus, it is always best to bring our pets to our veterinarians at least twice a month for a thorough medical check-up and good grooming. My friend CJ, who owns a pet grooming facility that offers a one-stop pet shop for grooming packages like haircut, nail trimming, ear cleaning, hair shampoo and teeth brushing, suggests the following helpful tips on how we can make our little, adorable pets look and feel their best:

1. Apply the hundred brush strokes technique. Make sure that you set some time to brush the coat of your pet to prevent hair build up and excessive hair shedding. The hundred brush strokes may be over the top to do in a single sitting, but do practice brushing the coat as often as possible to promote coat luster. This technique will also help you establish an unbreakable bond with your dog.

2. Trim their nails. Dogs and cats alike rarely love nail trimming. This is because dogs find it uncomfortable if their paws are handled and they find it equally painful if their nails are cut too short. Most dog owners would only let their veterinarians and professionals like CJ handle nail trimming. Professional nail trimming will avert any unwanted experiences that may cause your dogs to continually avoid this grooming requirement.

3. Take them for a dip in the tub. Our dogs love baths: a good bathing at least once a week will ensure that they will be free from parasites like fleas and ticks. This good grooming practice will also help keep their skins healthy and their coats full. Skin ailments and presence of particular parasites may be addressed by using specific shampoos.

Among the most common ailments affecting our pet dog's health are skin problems, and constant dog scratching and licking may be a good sign of terrible itching. These dog skin problems may be due to the presence of parasites like fleas, ticks and other pests. This is why essential and good grooming should always be on top of our considerations when ensuring our pet dog's health.

All these things should be augmented with proper nutrition and healthy diet. Following a recommended diet by your veterinarian and giving our pet dogs enough protein to build strong muscles, enough Omega 3 and fish oil to maintain skin clarity and coat luster, and enough calcium to keep our pets active and strong are among the over-all well-being of our pets.

Pet your dog and cat to keep them healthy

Pets is a large part of our lives if his dog, cat, birds, fish, hamster or lizard, they are part of our lives day agenda. Just as our health and our families we take care of our health of pets too. They cannot tell us when they are sick or harmful, we need to understand this without our familiar words.

How can you that your pet is sick? For dogs and cats, it would be a nose touch to see if it is cold and wet. If this is not cold and wet your pet may be ill. But, sometimes even if their nose is cold and wet may not feel well. Like humans, pets can feel low and want to submit more than usual. Sometimes they go offshore for themselves if they feel good, they can't always tell us what is the problem.

It may not always be that they are ill when they moppy, it may be there is a change with something around the House, a person displaced or rear, someone is ill, a person is deceased or change in pet food that caused their depression. It is important that you to discover what the change was so you can help your pet pet owner address change.

Pets feel everything that we feel, we are happy or sad, that they feel, if we are sick, they have the acute sense and know we are sick and you want to help us for us to feel better. Many people is in sync with their pets and what they are feeling low and cuddle needs time.

Sometimes not pamper not help, and our pets must longer than we, as a trip to the vet. A vet check that your fate for pets and can even blood work to determine what is the problem. A veterinarian may recommend even switching your dog or your cat to a natural food or may give you medicine to take.

As humans, we can use natural supplements for pets or vitamins for your dogs and cats to keep healthy animals. Same change on their food organic pet food or natural made with vegetables can prevent the healthier and happier. Always check with your veterinarian prior to adding vitamins or supplements to your pets diet.

Trends in Pet photography brings families in the image

In modern American culture, pets is increasingly regarded as family members. Dogs, cats, birds and other small animals have always been an important part of the family. As American culture has evolved over the past two decades, these household companions took a role even more important.

Young couples are not only marry later in life. they are delaying until this as more children. As a result, the animals seem to have taken the place of children in the lives of young couples and as such, they are treated much the same way the children are. Indeed, many people refer to their pets as their "young" and owners are themselves called "animal parents" by those of companion animal industry.

For average Americans aged couples, animals are a relief in empty houses that their children grow up and move. These pets to facilitate the transition. For older Americans, a pet often helps to get the death of a spouse or a job loss.

Entire industries have been created for these families for pet service. It's walking dog sitters for pets, Grabber, backyard "pooper" insurance company daycare scooping, animals and of course, the specialist pet photography. Several large insurance companies have even added options for pet insurance. It is logical that this unique member of the family is included in the annual family and other functions of the family portrait. Keep your pets Thirsty

As humans even animals need water. Water plays a very important role by the regulating body temperature and dissolve all unnecessary nutrients stored in the body that can cause various gastric problems later. Dehydration causes kidney failure, heart disease and many other serious problems.

Personally, you must observe if the water stored in the House is purified to allow pets from drinking water. If your pet does not adequately consuming water and suffers from depression, sunken eyes, dehydration and then meet with the veterinarian who prescribe some intravenous fluids will also diagnose the nature of the problem.

Should require special precautions to keep all sorts of invasions as micro-organisms and bacteria free water bowls. If once per day that they should be scrubbed with SOAP dish. Bowls should be placed in the right place to avoid the knockouts, evaporation or accidents which cause the water to spill. Health care is also required to keep pets always healthy. Toilet lids should always be closed. All the animals do not drink water through the bowls. For example, exotic birds need water to drip. If veterinarians will provide the best advice. Different types of animals have different consumption habits and some are just specific, especially reptiles. If you have difficulties to face to their irregular patterns then consult a veterinarian that will allow you to know their exact nature.

Imagine - you and a parrot! 7 Important things examination as a PET Parrot

I have a dog person. And I did lose no enthusiasm for our canine friends. "The man best friend", who can argue with that? They are loving fun, intelligent and loyal and will always have a big place in my heart.

And the companions of gay and comforting independent of cats, gap, mysterious and yet warm.

But what of parrots? At the same time, in my ignorance of birds, I had their rank on an equal footing with reptiles intelligence and social graces. (No offence to reptiles, which have their own wonderful features!) Lizards with feathers, that I suppose. I was so wrong!

One of my friends I was his flock of bird friends. I was awakened to their deep intelligence, their playful nature and passionate emotions and social connections that they can have with their human companions.

I was immediately hooked and became an avid "birds-person", (parrots, but birds generally suddenly comes to light as individuals and personalities...) (I've never watched a Songbird or even a chicken in the same way!)

These last ten years, I am hosting a wonderful, loving, gentle and now 30 year named Sammo African Grey parrot. It is old bird-years [...] is the same formula that we use for human years through 30 years.

My bird has never failed me amaze with affection, ingenuity, comic antics, smoothness and quality of his company. Just his presence seems to have an effect on my soul healing. Big yellow eyes is wonderfully expressive and it seems always strongly interested in what I am doing and my emotional well-being.

But is a parrot right for you? Do your research on the many different species, from the tiny parrotlet offshore and colourful ARA-which would be adapted to your home and your lifestyle best? And above all, spend time with these birds to engage the responsibility of owning a parrot, especially the particular bird you intend. Learn to see things like a bird and realize the differences in the State of mind that our friends in mammals.

Here are a few important considerations for those contemplating such a parrot to their families.

(1) A healthy parrot can have a lifetime of 20 to 100 years, depending on the species. Therefore if you intend to make a parrot, thinking in terms of lifetime commitment! Being an animal that can survive very well you, it is wise to agree with someone familiar with these special critters for their care should unexpected events occur.

(2) Parrots are very social animals. Some tend to attach to a person over the other members of a family and become possessive of them. They may also prefer one sex over the other, and they may be hostile to anyone they do not accept in their "inner circle". Many of these behaviors and symptoms can be remedied with a "trial" period of a week or two if possible and appropriate training to observe how the birds will fit into its new home and family is strongly suggested. Children and other pets should be introduced under controlled conditions and never let alone with a new bird.

(3) Classification intelligence with chimpanzees and dolphins, parrots require a constant variety of mental stimulation and interaction. Neglected birds can become mentally and emotionally unstable, depressed and may descend into hostile or self-destructive behaviour. Ask yourself if your lifestyle can pass a number of hours every day to your bird and leaving only its cage or alone for long periods of time. Although some birds can do fine limited only hours, a person who works at home can have an ideal situation.

(4) Dirty birds! Expect to launch a large portion of their food on the ground and their kennels, anything can with their beaks shred or throw toys just to look down on the floor. Their will of course be bird poop, although they can be trained to operate in designated areas. Casting of feathers, and some may be expected to have considerable amounts of dander (feather-dust). Get ready to clean up after them constantly, even though none of this should be overwhelming if you keep it!

(5) NOISE! In addition to a potential top vocabulary most parrots have considerable voice-scope and can generate shocking decibels. Therefore take into account your acoustic home and the possible reaction of those who may be within earshot. Behaviour Screaming and noise can be alleviated through proper training, but just remember that most of the birds come fully programmed and can speak with passion with their voice.

(6) Diet. Parrots are omnivorous nature. A strict diet bird seed is not healthy and can lead to problems of health and shortened life span. A diet pellet quality Parrot is a good starting point, but fill in much the same way as you would for a healthy food. Fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains and pasta, even a very limited amount of meat, eggs and cheeses are permitted and recommended. Avoid salt, fat and some foods such as chocolate and counsel are very toxic for parrots.

(7) Environment. Parrots need a space to call their own and the freedom to spend time outside of the cage or perched on her comfortable. Happy Parrot actually loves her cage and is not trapped in it, but sees it as a House, a personal space and a shelter. Make sure that the cage adjusts the size of the bird, and there a lot of places to spread its wings, play and explore. Centrally located placement at home allows watching what was going on with the members of the family Parrot and keep your sense of birds included in involved in day-to-day activities.

These are only a few points to keep in mind for potential Parrot-people. And yes they speak, you may be pleasantly surprised if you expect to repeat randomly, these wise bird may use several phrases and words in the context they quickly learn the words and sounds inspired the reaction and the laughter of the people. Even if your Parrot never learns a single word in English, they are still an excellent ability to communicate by noises, behaviours and actions for humans learning to listen and learn from their birds.

Many of those who have a parrot compare the experience of having child 2 to 4 years with many of the same tests and delights! It takes a special type of person to live with these spirits to magic feathers, but only Parrot people know the wealth and joy that these birds bring to our lives.

Obedience training is not really the dog at all

Simply because the animal is cute, furry and fluffy does not mean that give their best. This behavior of the owner is a disservice to your pet and encourages power struggles unnecessary future and frustration later. Pet owners are often the mistake of treating their pets as a human being. People tend to forget that these pets, even if they are loved and cherished family member, making humans exactly as step think and why. Pet owners give them candy and toys when it has not been any behaviour which justifies a reward.

Let's eye dog ownership. Probably the most common error feeds a dog food scraps for still at the table. This only strengthens the behaviour of begging and almost immediately the dog will expect food and later the application. The next common behavior allows the dog jumping up on the sofa and bed. It sends a message to the dog he is every inch the master and the alpha. Herein lies the problem. The roles of the alpha is confused, people believe that the dog eventually be just a doggie disobedient, when in fact, it is the fault of the owner. This is not intentional, but caused by ignorance and misunderstanding in the way the dog thought process is.

Obedience training is the best alternative to a power struggle. Surprisingly as it sounds, obedience training really the dog as it is for the pet owner. Dogs instinctively know how to behave when there is a stronger currently alpha. Obedience training teaches pet owner, how does the understanding of dog and owner should behave to communicate the desired behavior.

One of the first things that an owner must realize is that dogs want acceptance, love and safety. Giving rewards only when it is positive behavior is performed is the key to a happy and loving Doggie. Negative behaviour must be ignored and immediately replaced with owner showing the dog is the correct behavior. Awards at the outset can be a delight on favorite dog for positive behavior. Finally treats can be replaced by a fade or rub.

Unfortunately to read a book or following directions in a booklet of dog training is not only effective with a live instructor physically showing the best method for the owner and their dog training. After that obedience training is complete, other skills can be taught that allow a stronger link between dog and owner. Even degrees can be earned if allowed, but all dogs are happy to deal with just a little soft, one you love.

Risk of home birds PET - Keep Your feathered Friend for

Interact with a bird pet outside of the cage is one of the joys of living with a bird, but the House which is safe for us, is perhaps not as safe for our feathered friends. Small day to day things we take for granted can injure or kill a bird in a blink of eye.

Ceiling fans are so prevalent in these days we just take their advice. It is easy to forget that they are even sometimes. If your bird can fly, it can fly in the fan. Spinning blades can easily mean a rapid death. When interacting with a bird in the cage, play safe and disable the ceiling fan!

Non-Bâton coated pans have been cleaning the kitchen a breeze, but overheating coated pan releases toxic vapours to your bird. Recent studies have shown that even a pan moderately heated yet can emit fumes, cooking so just regular can be dangerous. In cooking, make sure that your bird is safely in his cage to prevent accidents and when you use non-stick cooking sure kitchen is well ventilated to prevent vapour to your bird. You want to make life for you and your birds even safer? Mix the Cookware non-stick... fumes will be good for you!

Cookware, and sinks, bathtubs and toilets filled with water could be interesting for your bird, but it does not take plenty of water for a walnut bird. Close toilet lids when your bird is to play and if you bathe... shower set and ignore the bath.

Non-Enduit is not inhaled alone which can be hazardous to your bird. You should never use aerosol in any area where your bird may inhale the vapours. If you use sprays in birds reside in chambers, remove the birds of the region and ventilation. Once vapours were deleted, and then it is safe to return your bird in the area. Some owners of birds reported illness or death when their birds exposed to scented candles, perfumes, sprays even scented lotions and hair! Know the scents you use in your home and watch your bird to any change in behavior when none of these elements are used.

We know all the birds use their beaks to explore and play. As puppies and kittens, cords can pose hazards to birds chewing. Never leave a bird without supervision in a zone where it can chew on strings. Power always runs by cords when the element in question is disabled, therefore do not think that any Marci in cord is safe.

We get a bird in your home view and take precautions when your feathered friend is left with you is the best way to make home sweet home a safe home bird.

Insurance for your pet

Take your dog, cat, bird or any other pet beloved family of a veterinarian, especially in an emergency, can be extremely expensive. Pet insurance can help by ensuring that this special family member is covered in case of emergency, illness, accidents, even orders and regular treatments.

As with anything else, pet insurance can be very expensive. It is important to understand that insurance for less expensive pets may not be the best. Much like the purchase coverage for persons, which is the "best" will depend on what is important for you. Some people get a policy that provides "catastrophic coverage" is just what they want. Main objective is that if something were to happen as a serious injury, debilitating disease, etc., then the owner would be covered for high bills vet, hospitalization or treatment. This coverage comes at a price. Coverage, premium and / or franchises. And as for plans of "people", the details of what is covered, what is not, the period of coverage and other aspects must be well understood. However, coverage of health care for your pet is not out of the Bank. Some questions you should ask before engaging in a policy are as follows:

Do I get a pet insurance program now or wait for my pet is the oldest?
Can I use veterinarian authorised in the world, or what I need to use only certain doctors?
Is there a list of vet are covered and are there to close?
What I have to pay at the time of my visit to company or service animals and is there a co-payment?
Once I receive my policy, how long is it until I can use all the services covered?

Generally, health coverage is less expensive it is for humans and depending on the type of pet and the type and amount of insurance, it may be as low as $15-30 $ per month. It is important to realize that as with people, "pre-existing condition" usually not covered. This does not mean you can get a policy for your dog or cat, or otherwise your horse, ferret, exotic birds, serpent, or any other animal if it already has some medical problems, but rather than your pet insurance plan covers only a particular condition, it is symptoms, or associated with treatment.

Insurance is a way of animal lovers can protect themselves and their family members and help prevent worsening them health with exorbitant medical expenses. And just as you would if you were shopping for your self, friends or family that you want to be careful in the choice of medical insurance, the insurance company, coverage, costs and / or premiums and your options for treatment and care in the case where you need to take advantage of your insurance. But tranquility of mind and potential savings can make a huge difference, whether or not you you never use it!

Pets evacuation plan

When the earth shakes, wind or the House is filled with the smell of smoke, most people will move automatically in self-preservation mode and the rush to preserve their lives and the lives of others in the family. Those who plan ahead and develop such emergency contingencies generally fare better than those who do not. Professionals in the field of emergency disaster relief promote people emergency evacuation plans, because they work.

But what about a contingency plan for our pets? They are also members of the family. Shouldn't our emergency evacuation plans to include them as well? Thousands of trust, devoted to pets are lost each year due to disasters such as hurricanes, floods and fires, simply because their people had a contingency plan which included the.

With proper planning, the losses and a lot of grief can be avoided. Having an emergency plan in place evacuation, which includes the pet does not require much effort. It is very easy to achieve. Information and the following tips are provided to help you develop such a plan.

o never leave your pets behind unless circumstances absolutely prevent you take. For example, if the House is crumbling beneath your feet during an earthquake, you do not find the cat probably you get yourself and your family safety first and then, if safe, return to find chat later. The chances are that a cat or dog will manage leave home voluntarily in such a situation, because they do not want to be either.

In a situation where it is time to plan your escape however, as a fire-line approach or hurricane, pets should not remain. Life is also vulnerable to these threats such as humans, and they need to be protected. Even if they manage to survive in their race to offshore and not found is extremely high. If they are found, it will probably be control of animals and as a result of a natural disaster, efforts to bring pets with their people are not on the agenda.

o paper not your pet in a local Kennel or temporary shelter, unless the authorities decide that endure in imminent danger. If the facility is located in the path of destruction, your pet boarding does not remove the danger for them. Probably you will find refuge of and the cage which will be closed and not accepting anyway. Furthermore, Kennels in the cities that are surrounding safe step will likely run vacancies quickly.

The best idea is to check with your local shelter or SPCA, chapter long before any. They may already have all the information you need.

In the absence of such information, it is suggested that you keep your pets with you. Recently, there is a reawakening in the industry of the motel and hotel in the importance of pets to potential customers and institutions more provisions for animals. It should be relatively easy to find a motel that accepts your pet very little additional cost.

o ensure that your pet vaccines are up-to-date and paperwork in a place where you can find it quickly if the need to evacuate. If your product during the period of the disaster evacuation takes place (i.e. the start of a hurricane, etc) ensure your pet has a collar and required tags are attached. Without implying any lack of respect, it might be a good time to treat your pet a piece of luggage by adding a tag necklace with your contact information and a family member substitute (outside of the area endangered) contact. In the event you are separated from your pet, this could be a factor which ensures that you are met.

o some organizations give advice for situations where you have no choice but to leave your pets at home. Except those where the circumstances prevent you locate your pet and you must leave immediately (i.e. flood waters amount, etc.) these tips do step resonate with this writer. As a member of the family, they have an expectation of being too large. They depend on you and you will be dropped.

Just a little effort now can save you much grief tomorrow. Take the time and develop a plan of disposal for pets.

Large animals company Free - dogs, cats and other animals

You really get free animals if you know where to look. But make sure you're prepared to put a pet in your home.

You can find offered free animals every day about no matter what newspaper and online at websites like Craig list. Of course, dogs and cats are commonly offered animals, but you'll see other kinds of animals too. In my local newspaper, I have seen dogs, cats, ferrets, goats, rabbits, snakes, parrots, tropical marine fish, hamsters and horses even offered free to a good home.

Why anyone would give their pet away? There are tons of reasons. They can move to the city and he could not take with them. The pet can become too great to allow them to take care of. They may have an infant or a new job that takes their time. Or they may simply be tired to care for a pet.

You'll sometimes see relatively valuable animals offered free to a good home - pure dogs and cats, pythons, ferrets, horses, etc. Owners may have attempted to sell the animal, but found no takers. And if they are really desperate, they may give free animal or recover an animal shelter.

Before you put a free pet, or any type of pet, make sure you are ready. All animals need a certain amount of time (some more than others) and some basic supplies.

Adequate food and food dishes are a universal need for almost all pets. Dogs and cats must collars and leashes. Snakes, lizards and most rodents will need certain types of aquarium with a top. And of course a bird will require a cage. Just think and plan them exactly what you need and have put in place and ready to put your pet new home. Believe me, it's not fun to scramble around of a panic, rounding up supplies, after make you a pet new home.

For output to look for a pet new potential, ensure that you choose a healthy animal. A healthy animal will be bright eyes and alert. They (dry or wet) Mucosal around their eyes, nose or ears. And they will have a fur skin with no visible damage or healthy appearance. Use your common sense and stay away from any animal that appears to be ill, unless you're willing to pay the potentially significant veterinary bills. If possible, be sure to ask the owner for a history of health and all veterinary records available.

Free pets can be a wonderful thing, if you're ready to take your time and be not pressed. You can find yourself with someone of another problem.
